Reforms Should be Held in 40 Legislative Acts for   Azerbaijan’s Entrance to WTO : Head of Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku Trend U.Ismaylova / The Head of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, Alekber Mammadov, said on 4 June at the round table 'Problems of Azerbaijan's Entrance into the WTO' that Azerbaijan should take the long and difficult route to join World Trade Organization (WTO).

According to Mammadov, reforms should be held in 40 legislative acts for Azerbaijan's entrance into the WTO. In addition, Azerbaijan will have tofulfil the void of lack of qualified staff which exists, high-level competitiveness should exist in the Country and an improvement should be made to customs procedures as well as access to accurate statistic information. Mammadov officially said that currently unemployment figures in Azerbaijan equals 1.2% (53,000), but in reality this is not so.

"It states that there is not information transparency in the Country," he said.

WTO was established on 1 January 1995.
