Iran sees decline in cargo movements in Amirabad port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 26 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 198,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 62,000 tons were loaded and about 136,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, about 59,400 tons of cargo were exported and 126,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the seventh month.

Within the 7th month, 2,230 tons of cargo were loaded and 10,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 21 tons of cargo were loaded and 467 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the seventh month.

"So, 124,000 tons of essential products, 10,800 tons of metal products, 53,800 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,160 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 1,000 tons of chemicals, 13 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 598 tons of container products, 2,390 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded.

This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
