BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 19 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 241,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 89,000 tons were loaded and about 152,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, about 80,500 tons of cargo were exported and 141,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 2nd month.

Within the 2nd month, 8,520 tons of cargo were loaded and 10,600 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 56 tons of cargo were loaded and 326 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 2nd month.

"About, 132,000 tons of essential products, 13,000 tons of metal products, 80,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,880 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 1,880 tons of chemicals, 3,300 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 435 tons of container products, 8,030 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.

In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
