BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 29 percent, in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 241,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 99,400 tons were loaded and about 142,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 82,700 tons of cargo were exported and about 126,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 4th month.

Within the 4th month, 16,700 tons of cargo were loaded and 15,500 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 8 tons of cargo were loaded and 185 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 4th month.

"Some 113,000 tons of essential products, 7,430 tons of metal products, 100,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,530 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.

Moreover, 14,200 tons of chemicals, 561 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 282 tons of container products, 2,280 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.

In general, about 12.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.14 million tons were loaded and 6.19 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 6.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
