BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Kazakhstan's trade turnover totaled $32.6 billion from January through March 2023 against $28.2 billion a year earlier, Trend reports via the Bureau of National Statistics.
According to the data, this figure is 13.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.
Out of the total foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $18.7 billion, which is 2.1 percent less than the same period last year ($19.1 billion). The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover totaled 57.28 percent.
Kazakhstan's imports in the first quarter of this year totaled $13.9 billion against $9.7 billion (an increase of 43.76 percent). The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 42.72 percent.
As a result, in the reporting period, the balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, decreased by more than $4.6 billion (49.4 percent) on an annual basis, to $4.8 billion against $9.4 billion in the same period of the previous year.
