ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 6. The volume of construction work and services reached 6.3 trillion Kazakh tenge ($14.1 billion) in 2022 in Kazakhstan, reflecting a growth of 10.2 percent compared to 2021, Trend reports.
As noted by the country's Bureau of National Statistics, private construction organizations accounted for 77.8 percent of the total volume, foreign companies contributed 21.9 percent, while state entities represented a minimal share of 0.3 percent.
An increase in construction activity was observed across 18 regions of the country. The most notable growth was recorded in Akmolinsk (39.6 percent), Almaty (29.1 percent), Atyrau (18.8 percent), Kyzylorda (17.7 percent), North Kazakhstan (12.5 percent), and Ulytau (12.5 percent) regions, as well as in the city of Shymkent (35.8 percent). However, two regions experienced a decrease in construction volume: Mangystau (18.5 percent) and Karaganda (5.5 percent).
In 2022, the total area of newly commissioned buildings reached 19 million square meters. The area of newly commissioned residential properties decreased by 7.4 percent, totaling 15.6 million square meters. Out of the total residential housing area, 9 million square meters comprised multi-apartment buildings, while 6.4 million square meters constituted private houses.
