ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 21. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to $1.85 billion in January 2024, Trend reports.

Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover decreased by 17.3 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($2.24 billion).

At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to the EAEU countries for the above period amounted to $697 million, which is 30.1 percent less than January 2023 ($998 million).

In addition, imports from the EAEU countries in January 2024 decreased by 7 percent and amounted to $1.15 billion. In January 2023, imports amounted to $1.24 billion.

To note, the volume of foreign trade turnover in Kazakhstan amounted to $10.08 billion in January 2024. This is 1.9 percent less than in the same period in 2023.

Exports totaled $5.9 billion (in nominal terms, 1.8 percent less than the same time in 2023). At the same time, imports decreased by 2.1 percent, totaling $4.18 billion.
