EBRD publishes updated forecast for Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has published an updated forecast for Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth, Trend reports citing EBRD's September report.

According to the EBRD's projections, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth is expected at 7 percent in both 2022 and 2023.

"The Kyrgyz economy is on a vigorous recovery path, with GDP growing by 7.7 percent year-on-year in the first 7 months of 2022). The country is also enjoying a significant increase in money transfers from Russia and re-exporting of (mostly) Chinese goods to Russia has become a major business activity," the EBRD reported.

In addition, the EBRD underlined that the Kyrgyz economy is likely to further benefit from increased re-export opportunities, money transfers as well as the relocation of Russian companies and individuals.
