BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 29. The value of manufacturing production in Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2023 amounted to 188.508 billion soms ($2.1 billion), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, this figure includes 110.772 billion soms ($1.2 billion), which is 58.8 percent of the total value, manufactured from primary metals and finished metal products, excluding machinery and equipment.
Food products (including beverages) and tobacco products contributed 37.216 billion soms ($421.8 million), constituting 19.7 percent. In addition, rubber and plastic products, along with other non-metallic mineral products, accounted for 11.9 percent, equivalent to 22.350 billion soms ($253 million) of the total manufacturing value.
Furthermore, products from textile manufacturing, clothing and footwear production, leather, and other leather goods amounted to 7.883 billion soms ($89.3 million), or 4.2 percent of the total production, and refined petroleum products constituted 2.715 billion soms ($30 million), or 1.4 percent.
The volume of production in the manufacturing industry of Kyrgyzstan during the reporting period decreased by 3.7 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan totaled nearly 246 billion soms ($2.7 billion) from January through July 2023, decreasing 1.8 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
