Personnel changes have been made in the industrial sector of Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing the published orders of the country's president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Deputy Prime Minister Karim Durdymyradov, who supervised the industrial sector, was dismissed for serious shortcomings in work. He is temporarily substituted by the Deputy Prime Minister Mammetkhan Chakiyev, who also remains the superviser of the transport and communications industry.

Another decree dismissed Hoshgeldi Mergenov from the post of the Industry Minister also because of serious shortcomings in work. He is temporarily substituted by the Deputy Minister of Industry Takhyrberdi Durkhanov.

The Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper quoted Berdimuhamedov as saying at the government meeting on Saturday that Durdymyradov had held the post of Deputy Prime Minister for about a year, but as a result of improper control and irresponsible attitude to work, the activities of the supervised ministries and sectoral departments have deteriorated dramatically.

Noting the unresolved financial issues of the Garlyk mining complex for the production and enrichment of potash fertilizers, as well as the unresolved financial issues of ministries and departments, the president of Turkmenistan stressed that cases of theft of state property, bribery and falsification of figures were revealed among the heads of the supervised industries.
