Quake jolts parts of Iran's Kerman Province

An earthquake measuring 4 degrees on open-ended Richter scale shook vicinity of Kerman Province's Mohammadabad Village of Rigan District late Monday night.

According to IRNA, the Country's Seismography Center, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran has recorded the time of the relatively strong quake at 22:55 local time.

The geographical position of the Monday night earthquake is reported at 28.59 degrees longitude and 58.91 degrees latitude.

There is still no report on probable loss of life and material damages of the quake.
Iran is located on a number of the world's most active earthquake lines and different parts of the country have been witnesses to the occurrence of horrendous quakes at least once every decade.
