The key for solving Iran's current problems is to have the right foreign policy, new Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said, Mehr news agency reported.

Rouhani made the remarks during the ceremony of presenting Mohammad Javad Zarif as Iran's new Foreign Minister in country's foreign ministry.

"False in foreign policy imposes expenses on people," Rouhani said. "Diplomacy shouldn't be about slogans, poetry. The words should be logic, reasonable and accurate, because foreign policy is a sensitive matter."

Noting that Zarif would be the best choice for the Foreign minister's post at the time, Rouhani said that people of Iran want a revolution in foreign policy, decision making and implementation, as well as in policy making.

Rouhani went on to note that Iran is serious about defending the rights of its people.

"The results of last presidential elections sent a meaningful message both inside and outside the country. People have shown that they want changes in Iran's foreign policy, at the last presidential elections," said Rouhani, who won the June 14 elections in Iran, gathering over 50 percent of votes.

Rouhani went on to say that the basics of the foreign policy of Iran will not change, however the methods of realizing the foreign policy will be different.

It should be noted that Manouchehr Mottaki and Kamal Kharazi were also present at the ceremony. Mottaki was the Foreign minister of Iran during the first presidential term of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, while Kharazi was the foreign minister during the ruling times of president Mohammad Khatami.
