There should be 3-4 strong parties in Iran and they should keep being strengthened, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at a meeting of the provincial government in Iran’s northern Gilan Province, Trend reports referring to Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN).
According to Rouhani, there are currently no parties in Iran in the true sense of the word.
Rouhani added that the fact that parties can not fully rule the parliament and government creates a number of problems.
"In a number of countries around the world, the party is ruling both the government and the parliament. But that is not the case in Iran,” he said.
The Iranian president also said that the government currently ruled by him has lost its homogeneity, due to the presence of members of other parties in the government.
