(www.cuhannews.com) - Turkey's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Ministry confirmed that samples taken from four more settlements in southeastern Turkish provinces of Diyarbakir and Batman tested positive for bird flu.
Quick tests conducted in laboratories proved that the samples were contaminated with bird flu and further tests will be carried out to determine the type of the virus.
The settlements were quarantined and over 1,500 poultry were culled in the area.
Meanwhile, a person was hospitalized with symptoms resembling bird flu in central Turkish province of Konya. Blood samples taken from the 27-year old man were sent to Ankara Hygiene Institute for further tests, reports Trend.
