The amount of visitors from Azerbaijan traveling to Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 7,562 people, which is an increase of 91.4 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (3,950), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
The same number, however, significantly decreased by 92 percent, compared to 94,219 visitors in February 2020, and by 90.9 percent, compared to 83,511 visitors over the same month of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked seventh among TOP-10 main countries of origin for visitors arriving in Georgia in February 2022, the report said.
Turkey ranked first on the list with 29,606 visitors to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022, followed by Russia (20,876), and Armenia (17,366).
Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in February 2022 totaled 165,626 people, which is an increase of 293.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (42,075).
