Israeli Navy boards French ship on way to Gaza Strip
The Israel Navy boarded a French yacht sailing for the Gaza Strip Tuesday and the vessel was redirected to the Israel port of Ashdod, a military spokesman said, DPA reported.
The Dignite had been shadowed by Israeli naval vessel, and told it could not sail to the Strip, its announced destination.
None of the 16 passengers and crew on board the ship, the Dignite, resisted, the spokesman said.
The Dignite was part of a flotilla which had intended to sail to the salient, which is under Israeli naval blockade. But following intense Israeli pressure, the Greek government prevented most of the ships from leaving Greek ports.
