The street where the Russian Embassy is located in Ankara will be named in honor of the late Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov, TASS agency reported citing Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Cavusoglu made the remarks at the beginning of a meeting with Russia’s top diplomat Sergey Lavrov on Dec. 20.
“We made a decision, I was informed by the Turkish prime minister about it, to eternalize Andrey Karlov’s memory in Ankara,” noted Cavusoglu.
Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov died after being fatally wounded in an armed assault in Ankara on Dec. 19.
