Sharing his impressions on Georgia, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass said that he is pleased with democratic spirit that prevails among the population, the Rustavi-2 television company reported.
"Two weeks [of office] is little time for appraisal, so I will refrain, but I was impressed by the democratic spirit of the Georgian people," the ambassador said.
Boss particularly mentioned a program on the youth participation in governance in Telavi and other regions.
Self-management is an essential component of democracy and if all have such attitude as the students have, it will be better, Boss said.
According to the ambassador, development of democracy is also observed in the work on the Electoral Code.
