There is a need for Azerbaijan to change the concept of "opposition", Great Establishment Party chairman Fazil Mustafa said on Monday at a press conference on the creation of the bloc "Transformation" at Trend Agency.

"The main purpose of this bloc is to change the concept of opposition. We strive to create new traditions in opposition," Mustafa said.

Single Popular Front Party, Great Establishment party and Adalat party signed an agreement on the establishment of the electoral bloc "Transformation".

Opposition Democratic Party of Azerbaijan and Umid party have already created a voting bloc "Karabakh". Opposition Liberal Party, Green party and the Party of Citizens and Development also announced about establishment of the bloc.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be held November 7, 2010.

Mustafa also touched on the new format of the opposition. "Relations between the state and opposition should be regulated by law. A law on the opposition must be adopted. The legitimacy of the opposition should be recognized by the state. Azerbaijan does not need the opposition, which is blamed and beaten on the streets and isolated from society," Mustafa said.

Single Popular Front Party chairman Gudrat Hasanguliyev spoke about future plans of the bloc.

"This bloc will unite not only the three parties. It will be opened for other organizations. Takamul party has also expressed intention to enter into this bloc, Hasanguliyev said.
