The relations between Israel and Azerbaijan in political, economic and cultural relations are ever growing, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michael Lotem said in an interview with Trend on the eve of Israel's celebration of Independence Day and the 20th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.

"On a weekly base, we see new things developing on the trade and economic area and many things are happening," the ambassador. "Many more Israeli companies are coming into new areas in Azerbaijan and there is a lot of interest in Israel in the Azerbaijani market."

He said Israel and Azerbaijan also have many cultural contacts - some through the embassy, some not.

"Some people come on commercial basis because there is audience with Israeli music in Azerbaijan and there is audience in Israel for the Azerbaijani music", the ambassador said.

Touching upon the efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, Lavon-Lotem stated that Israel believe in bilateral negotiations.

"From our experience, this is the very consistent Israeli position that we need, we believe in bilateral negotiations," the ambassador. "It is good when you have other countries assisting, supporting, facilitating but bilateral negotiations are most important."
