The Supreme Court of Azerbaijan carries out compilation of all the judicial practice in criminal cases related to illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The Supreme Court examined all the decisions made by Republican courts of first instance on these criminal cases in 2009.
The compilation studies experience in the application of legislation and judicial practice, investigates the mistakes made during the consideration of cases and possible shortcomings in the legislation.
The first and second state programs to combat drug made recommendations on the study of experience in the application of legislation in this area.
Results of generalization will be discussed at a meeting of the Plenum of the Supreme Court, which will be held in March 2010. The meeting will make a final decision.
Articles of crimes related to illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances are contained in section 26 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic.
