Hearings of Azerbaijani Former Economic Development Minister, Farhad Aliyev, Continued by Evidence

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Javadova / The criminal trial involving Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, and seventeen other people, has been continued at the Court of Heinous Crimes presided by Judge Tofik Pashayev.

During the hearing Sergey Borshevskii was the defendant. He testified that they sold cables together with Agabeck Huseinov, the other defendant. In 2003 Borshevskii arrived to Azerbaijan together with Alexander Tugolistin, the official of the Science Cable Institute of Moscow, for the investment of the economy of the country. Huseinov acquainted Farhad Aliyev with Borshevskii.

The Minister proposed Borshevskii to purchase the Mingachevir-based cable factory, for $130.000.

The defendant handed $500,000 to the former Minister for mediation.

Some $130,000 was paid for stocks of the factory. After the factory, as registered on Agabeck Huseinov to share the benefits with Farhad Aliyev.

The hearings will continue on the 11th of June.
