Azerbaijan's electricity production at solar plants grows for 9M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 17. The volume of electricity production by Azerbaijani solar power plants increased from January through September 2022, Trend reports on November 17 via the State Statistics Committee’s report.

According to the report, this figure amounted to 54.4 million kilowatt-hours, up by 14 percent in annual terms.

Totally, 22.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Azerbaijan over the first 10 months of this year, which is 5.2 percent more than over the same period of 2021. Of these, 21.6 billion kilowatt-hours fell on commercial electricity (an increase of five percent year on year).

Of the total electricity production, 1.4 billion kilowatt-hours came from hydroelectric power plants, up by 32.7 percent compared to the first 10 months of 2021, and 20 billion kilowatt-hours - from thermal power plants (growth of 3.6 percent).

Wind power generation in Azerbaijan from January through September 2022 amounted to 39.2 million kilowatt-hours, thus having decreased by 48.1 percent year on year.
