The third meeting of heads of law enforcement departments of customs services of CIS countries will be held in Ukraine in 2010. The decision was adopted during the second meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Administrations held in Baku earlier this week.
During the second meeting the sides discussed 15 issues on the agenda. The meeting was attended by Heads of Customs Services of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia and Moldova.
In 2008, Azerbaijan registered nearly 4,000 facts of administrative offenses of which 160 were criminal in nature. The State Customs employees have prevented 64 facts (356 kilograms) of illicit trafficking in narcotic substances which is 25 times more than in 2006, Violations Committee Head Guloglan Muradli said.
