In Azerbaijan, the prices of consumer goods and tariffs on services increased by 0.1 percent in August, compared to the prices in 2009 and in January-August- by 2.6 percent compared to the same period of 2008, the state statistics committee said.
In August, food prices remained unchanged, prices of non-food products and services increased by 0.1 percent each.
Food prices rose by 0.3 percent, non-food - 4.7 percent, while prices of services - by 6.2 percent compared to the index for the eight months of 2008.
In August, the base consumer price index, except goods and services, subject to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables), and prices, regulated by the state amounted to 100.3 percent, and in January-August, 103.1 percent compared to the same period of 2008.
In August, price cut was observed on oil and fat - 1 percent, fruits - 5.9 percent, fish products - 1.2 percent and the increase in prices of grain products - by 0.5 percent, vegetables - 1.3 percent , meat products - 0.3 percent, dairy products, cheese and eggs - 4 percent, beer - 0.1 percent.
The price cut in non-food prices was observed on construction materials - by 0.1 percent, textiles - 0.4 percent, household equipments - 0.2 percent, furniture and household goods - 0.2 percent, cars - 0.3 percent and the increase was observed on prices of clothing - 0.2 percent, footwear - 0.2 percent, electrical appliances - 0.3 percent, medicine - 0.3 percent, precious goods - 0.9 percent and products of medical purpose - 0.2 percent.
The growth of tariffs on paid services was triggered by increase in fees on education and shoe repair.
