Azerbaijani and Russian customs will hold a meeting to solve the problems at the border, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said on Wednesday.
"Many cars trying to cross the border have been recently observed at the Samur customs checkpoint of the State Customs Committee's Khachmaz Customs Department of the Azerbaijani-Russian border.
The State Customs Committee said that the queues are not connected with problems on the Azerbaijani side," a statement said.
According to the State Customs Committee, the main cause of the problems is the very long procedures of checking the cars at the Magerramkend checkpoint in Dagestan.
'Azerbaijani customs' bodies promptly ensure the process of passenger and car passing through the state border', a statement said.
Senior employees of customs from the two countries will meet at the Azerbaijani-Russian border on Dec. 20 to resolve this problem.
'Concrete measures will be discussed at the meeting to resolve this problem in the near future', a statement said.
