Georgian imports from Azerbaijan exceed $318 million since early 2013

In January-July 2013, Georgia imported goods from Azerbaijan worth $318.56 million, a report of the Georgian National Statistics Office (Gruzstat) said on Tuesday.

According to the report, the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased by 12.46 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period of the last year.

For comparison in January-July 2012, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods in the amount of $363.91 million.

Azerbaijan holds fourth place in the list of countries that import products into Georgia.

The specific weight of Azerbaijani imports in the total volume of goods imported into the country is 7.6 percent.

Georgia imports most of the goods from Turkey. In January-July 2013 the volume of Georgian imports from Turkey amounted to $730 million, or 17.4 percent of total imports.

In total in January-July 2013, Georgia imported goods worth $4.19 billion, which is 5.1 percent less than in the same period of 2012.
