The total trading volume increased by 15.2 percent and reached 13.9 trillion soums at the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UzEx) in 2017 compared to 2016, Aziz Abduganiev, director of UzEx auctions, told Trend.

He said that among the products mainly sold at UzEx are building materials (25 percent of the total trading volume), food products (21 percent), black and non-ferrous metals (19 percent).

“The number of new customers increased by 22 percent due to the simplification of the accreditation processes of UzEx electronic trading participants,” Abduganiev added.

In 2017, 66,800 transactions worth 1.6 trillion soums were concluded at the exhibition and fair trades, which is 10 percent more than in 2016.
