Exports of products through Iranian ports of Abadan announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31

About 31,200 tons of products were exported from the Abadan ports of Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Director of Abadan Ports and Maritime Organization Reza Saffari, Trend reports citing official website of the organization.

According to Saffari, exports of products increased by 32 percent compared to last year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

Saffari added that more 20,000 tons of products were imported through the Abadan ports.

The official said that a number of priorities are envisaged regarding the ports of Abadan in the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020). These plans include increasing the security of ships in ports and seas, increase in ship services, full control over the repair and maintenance of ships, purchase and commissioning of equipment in connection with the protection of the environment in the ports.

Arvandkenar, Abadan and Chavibdeh ports operate in Abadan region.
