Turkmenistan’s Balkan region reveals planned volume of sugar beet planting

Turkimenistan’s Balkan region is preparing to plant sugar beets on 3,000 hectares of land, from which 20,000 tons of crop will be collected, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

Also, the region continues to harvest spring and vegetable crops, as well as sow of winter potatoes and melons.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
