Azerbaijan unveils data on trade turnover for 7M2021

Most of the settlements in Azerbaijan's trade turnover were made in freely convertible currency (FCC) from January through July 2021, Trend reports citing the report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the SCC, settlements in FCC on export operations amounted to $6.22 billion, or 54.63 percent of all types of export settlements, a growth of 29.6 percent in annual terms.

Calculations in the FCC on import operations in the reporting period amounted to $5.23 billion, or 83.08 percent of all types of payments on imports, an increase of 4.2 percent on annual basis.

“As of early August, settlements in manat on Azerbaijan's export operations reached $10.1 million, a decrease by 8.4 percent over the year. In import operations, this figure amounted to $466 million, an increase of 12 percent over the year,” said the SCC.

“Other export transactions reached $5.15 billion, an increase of 20 percent. The share of other export transactions reached 45.2 percent of all types of settlements. For import operations in this category, an increase was recorded by 25.8 percent - up to $579.3 million. The share of such transactions in all types of import settlements amounted to 9.2 percent,” said the report.

In the structure of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the reporting period, exports accounted for $11.39 billion, and imports - $6.3 billion.

The balance of foreign trade turnover increased by 57.7 percent on annual basis and remained positive, approaching $5.1 billion.
