The trade turnover between the Central Asian countries and India reached $3 billion in 2020, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the Central Asia-India Summit, Trend reports with reference to the presidential press service.

The president said that the trade turnover between the Central Asian countries and India reached $3 billion in 2020.

“The share of Kazakhstan in this trade amounted to 80 percent,” President Tokayev stressed. “However, current indicators still do not correspond to our total economic potential.”

“I think that the work of such dialogue platforms as the Central Asia-India Summit is of practical benefit for the progressive development of our countries, as well as the effective responses to new challenges and risks,” the president said.

“In this regard, I am sure that this unique format of the productive exchange of views will help bring cooperation between our countries to a qualitatively new level,” the president added.
