Iran is currently exporting 20,000 tons of agricultural products daily through the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) to the Caspian littoral states, Director of Agriculture Department in the Mazandaran Province Azizollah Shahidifar said, Trend reports citing ISNA.
The director stressed that Iran's Mazandaran Province is one of the main provinces in Iran for the export of agricultural products.
Shahidifar added that 2.5 percent of Iran's productive agricultural areas are located in Mazandaran Province. A total of 8 million tons of agricultural products are harvested in the province a year.
"In recent days, a number of agricultural facilities have been put into operation in the Mazandaran Province. A total of 2.53 trillion rials (about $60.1 million) has been spent on these facilities. The facilities operate in the livestock, poultry and other fields and employ 423 people," he said.
