BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. Iran's exports to four Caspian littoral states (Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan) increased by 27 percent both in value and volume, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
According to him, in total, Iran exported about 3.47 million tons of goods worth about $1.5 billion to four Caspian littoral states in 11 months.
The customs official noted that Iran exported about 1.04 million tons of goods worth $539 million to Russia in 11 months, which is an increase of 20 percent in value and 11 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Latifi also added that Iran exported 759,000 tons of goods worth about $492 million to Azerbaijan within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 5 percent in value, while a decrease of 17 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
"At the same time, Iran exported 1.21 million tons of goods worth about $300 million to Turkmenistan over 11 months. The exports increased by 160 percent in value and 105 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year," he said.
As for Iran's exports to Kazakhstan for 11 months, the spokesman stressed that the exports amounted to about 460,000 tons worth $165 million. This is an increase of 13 percent in value and 65 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
According to Latifi, Iran's trade turnover with four Caspian littoral states for the first 11 months of the current Iranian amounted to about 7 million tons worth more than $3 billion. The trade turnover increased by 39 percent in value and 23 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
