Non-oil exports from western ports of Iran’s Hormozgan Province rise by a third

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. Iran’s export of non-oil products through the western ports of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 33 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports.

According to him, 1.81 million tons of non-oil products were exported via the western ports of the province in 6 months.

Salari added that exported non-oil products were mainly fruits and vegetables, mining minerals and construction materials.

"In addition, 1.7 million tons of crude oil and related products were exported through the province’s western port during 6 months," the director said.

Thus, in total, 3.52 million tons of various products (including both oil and non-oil products) were exported through the western ports of Hormozgan Province within six months, Salari noted.

In general, there are 10 ports operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Bandar Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan are more active.
