BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. The export of non-oil exports from Iran’s Kurdistan Province in the west of the country increased by 36 percent in value and 17 percent in volume during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, an official of the Kurdistan Province Customs Office, Faramarz Omidi said, Trend reports.
“In total, 577,000 tons of non-oil products worth $261 million were exported from Kurdistan Province in six months,” Omidi noted.
The official added that agricultural and food products and various industrial products were the main exported products from the province.
According to him, the province’s goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, the UAE, Russia, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and others.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil. Due to the imposed sanctions, Iran cannot freely export the mentioned products. That’s why it attaches importance to the export of non-oil products.
