Iran sees surge in non-oil trade with Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Iran’s non-oil trade turnover with Türkiye rose by 3.43 percent in value and 17.6 percent in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Non-oil trade turnover between the two nations increased to 8.61 million tons worth around $7.46 billion in eight months, according to figures from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Meanwhile, in the same period last year, Iran's non-oil trade with Turkey totaled 7.32 million tons worth around $7.21 billion.

Agricultural and food products, petrochemical products, industrial and mining products, various types of equipment, raw materials, fabric, and so on were the principal items traded between the two countries.

In the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Türkiye was around 788,000 tons worth $950 million.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world for the first eight months of this year was $74.1 billion, involving about 115 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
