Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / Azerbaijani Government is going on with criminal proceedings with Turkish Avrasia company on seizure of Azerbaijani property (an airplane implementing a flight from Azerbaijan to Turkey) imposed in May, 2007, deputy chairman of State Committee on State Property Management, Rustam Shahbazov, said on 6 June.

Avrasia demands Azerbaijani Botas company should pay for repair of transport equipment supplied by Turkish company with account of interest rate ($200,000, with main debt being only $45-50,000)

Necessity in repair of equipment was caused by Avrasia, as defected elements were revealed among the supplied equipment. As a result the Turkish company agreed for repair, as Botas had paid the contract cost.

Azerbaijan initiated a lawsuit on the matter. The first hearing was held for benefit of Azerbaijani side. The seizure was left as a result. Shahbazov believes the court should define the debt of Azerbaijan to Turkish company.

Botas was established on the basis of broken-up Baku plant that had been a part of Azeravtonagliyyat.
