Kazakh KMG EP increases oil production in 2013

KazMunaiGas Exploration and Production (KMG EP), including shares in the Kazgermunai joint venture, CCEL and PetroKazakhstan Inc. produced 12.388 million tons (251,000 bpd) in 2013, or 197,000 tons (two percent) more than in 2012, according to KMG EP's published consolidated financial statements as of 2012.

"Ozenmunaygas extracted 5.208 million tons (105,000 bpd) or five percent more than in 2012. Embamunaygas extracted 2.841 million tons (57,000 bpd) or one percent more than in 2012. As a result, total production volumes of Ozenmunaygas and Embamunaygas hit 8.49 million tons (162,000 bpd) or four percent more compared to 2012, according to KMG EP.

KMG EP's share in the production of such companies as CCEL, Kazgermunai and PetroKazakhstan Inc amounted to 4.339 million tons (89,000 bpd) in 2013 or two percent less than in 2012 mainly due to a five percent decline in the production volumes of PetroKazakhstan Inc.

The export oil sales volumes of Ozenmunaygas and Embamunaygas amounted to 6.17 million tons (119,000 bpd) in 2013, or 75 percent of a total volume of oil sales.

Supplies to the domestic market totalled 1.967 million tons (39,000 bpd) or 25 percent of a total volume of oil sales.

The share of sales volumes of CCEL, Kazgermunai and PetroKazakhstan Inc, owned by KMG EP was 4.319 million tons of oil (88,000 barrels per day), including 3.829 million tons of oil (78,000 barrels per day) supplied to the export markets. It accounted for 89 percent of a total volume of the companies' sales.
