Over 20,000 ships passed through Dardanelles in 2Q2019

In the second quarter of 2019, a total of 21,026 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait (Canakkale), 7,187 of which are cargo ships, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

As many as 1,242 cargo ships passed through the Dardanelles n January 2019, 1,115 cargo ships in February, 1,264 cargo ships in March, 1,233 cargo ships in April, 1,109 cargo ships in May and 1,334 cargo ships in June, according to the ministry.

“In the second quarter of 2019, 81 warships passed through the Dardanelles,” the ministry said.
