Electricity generation at Azerbaijan's solar power plants amounted to 44.2 million kilowatt hours in 2019, which is 4.9 million kilowatts more compared to 2018, Trend reports with reference to the country's Energy Ministry.
The ministry's report says that the electricity generation at thermal power plants (TPPs) last year increased by over a billion kilowatt-hours compared to 2018 and exceeded 24.1 billion kilowatt-hours in 2019.
The country's wind farms generated 105.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2019, which shows an increase of 22.7 million compared to 2018.
According to the report, 1.560 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated at Azerbaijan's hydroelectric power plants in 2019, which is 222.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity more than in 2018.
Moreover, 196 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated at the country's bio electric power plants in 2019, which is 33.7 million kilowatt-hours more compared to 2018.
According to the country's State Statistical Committee report, Azerbaijan's power plants generated 24.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2019, which is 4.3 percent more compared to 2018.
