Export of Azerbaijani gas via Gazimammad-Gazakh pipeline down

Azerbaijan supplied 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas via the Gazimammad-Gazakh gas pipeline to Georgia in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry’s report as of 2020.

“The export of Azerbaijani gas through the Gazimammad-Gazakh pipeline decreased by 3.8 percent compared to 2019,” the ministry said.

Gas is supplied to Georgia via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Gazimammad-Gazakh gas pipelines.

The volume of gas sales from Azerbaijan abroad during 2020 reached 13.5 billion cubic meters, which is less than the forecast by 590 million cubic meters.

The volume of gas sales abroad increased by 1.8 billion cubic meters, that is, by 15.6 percent compared to 2019.

Gas production increased by four percent in Azerbaijan in 2020 compared to 2019, amounting to 37.1 billion cubic meters.

The natural gas from Azerbaijan was exported to the markets of Turkey and Georgia in 2020. Gas was exported for the first time to the European market on the last day of 2020.
