The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will announce a decision on the discount rate at the end of July, Head of the research and investment consulting department of Unicapital OJSC Seymur Ibadov told Trend.
As he said, the key level is expected to remain the same.
According to Ibadov, the economic indicators published in the first half of 2021 show positive factors for the country's economy.
“The economy of Azerbaijan in the second quarter of 2021 showed a positive growth by 2.1 percent, and given the scale of the upcoming work, provided that restrictive measures due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic are not resumed, we expect the growth rate of the economy to continue in the range of 3 to 4 percent to the end of the year,” said the head of the department.
He also noted that the trade balance of Azerbaijan in the first half of the year amounted to $3.5 billion, which had a positive effect on foreign exchange reserves.
Since December 18, 2021, the discount rate has remained at the level of 6.25 percent. The upper limit of the corridor was determined at 6.75 percent, and the lower one - 5.75 percent.
