BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The largest share of loans issued fell on households in Azerbaijan, in April 2022, amounting to 51.6 percent of total lending, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).

According to CBAR, the volume of loans issued to households, during this period, increased on an annualized basis by 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion), or 34.3 percent - from 7.04 billion manat ($4.14 billion) to 9.4 billion manat ($5.5 billion).

At the same time, lending to the sphere of trade and services increased over the year by 578.8 million manat ($340.7 million), or 22.6 percent - up to 3.1 billion manat ($1.8 billion) compared to 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion) in April 2021. The share of trade and services in the total volume of lending amounted to 17.1 percent.

Lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy totally increased by 22.2 percent, or 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion) in April 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 - from 14.9 billion manat ($8.7 billion) to 18.3 billion manat ($10.7 billion).
