Positive tendency of software piracy reduction is observed in Azerbaijan, Microsoft Azerbaijan LLC told Trend.

At present, the International Data Corporation (IDC) on the order of the Software Alliance (BSA), which brings together the world’s largest software makers, is preparing regular Global Software Survey, Microsoft Azerbaijan LLC said.

“We expect the results of the survey to be released in the near future,” the company said. “We believe that the work we carried out with the copyright agency and other partners in the public sector will lead to positive changes, and we expect significant positive results.”

According to the latest 2016 BSA Global Software Survey published in May last year, the commercial value of unlicensed software in Azerbaijan was $90 million in 2015, which is $13 million less than in 2013. The level of distribution of pirated software in Azerbaijan in 2015 was one percent less than in 2013 and amounted to 84 percent.
