ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 16. Car and passenger Ro-Pax ferries of the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency (Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation) transported 19,028 units of vehicles from January through September of this year, Trend reports.
According to the agency, in the first nine months of 2023, the country's ferries transported 27.4 percent more cars than in the reporting period last year.
Furthermore, the passenger turnover from January through September of this year exceeded 6.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2022 and amounted to 128.2 million passenger kilometers, and the implementation of the plan at the same time amounted to 128.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the development of passenger ferry transportation in Turkmenistan plays a key role in ensuring communication between the country's ports and other regions, contributing to tourism, trade, and economic development.
