BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. The data on the area of cultivated land for cotton in the Danew district of the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan has been published, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

According to the information, this year, 18,500 hectares of land were sown in the district, from which it is planned to harvest 50,700 tons of cotton.

Meanwhile, 580,000 hectares of land have been sown in the whole country this year (620,000 hectares in 2021), from which 1.25 million tons of cotton are planned to be harvested.

The agricultural sector in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
