BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. Turkmenistan intends to join the agreement of the Organization for Cooperation Between Railways (OSJD) on container transportation in international traffic, Trend reports citing Orient news.
This was announced by the Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakiyev at a government meeting held on December 2.
According to him, the Turkmendemiryollary Agency (Turkmenistan Railway) has studied the possibility of joining its structural subdivision - Demiryollary OJSC - to the above-mentioned agreement in order to develop international transport corridors running through Turkmenistan, increase the volume of container traffic through the country, as well as the formation of optimal pricing conditions and logistics schemes.
