Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci discussed ways of developing bilateral cooperation in New York, IRNA reported.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci discussed ways of developing bilateral cooperation in New York, IRNA reported.

The two foreign ministers expressed pleasure with close Tehran-Algiers ties and cooperation in all fields and discussed ways of strengthening mutual cooperation in direction of interests of both countries.

Salehi and Medelci also discussed regional developments especially Syrian crisis and exchanged views on ways of solving current problems in Syria.

The Iranian senior diplomat expounded on results of his visit to Cairo and Damascus and his efforts to end violence in Syria.

The Algerian foreign minister, by referring to successful meeting of NAM summit in Tehran and the importance of Iran's chairmanship on the movement, expressed pleasure with Iran's recent efforts and contacts in the region in connection with Syrian crisis and called it important and in direction of interests of the region and Islamic world.

He also appreciated President Ahmadinejad's speech in the meeting of " Sovereignty and Law" on Monday.
