TEHRAN, Iran, August 31. Iran has increased its export volume of vegetables and fruit to Russia in recent years and its kiwi export supplies 85 percent of Russia's market, said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Mehdi Boromandi, Trend reports citing ILNA.
There are ongoing efforts to preserve and sustain the Russian market, he said adding that the Iranian administration has strong plans to control the quality of products.
Russia is interested in Iran's good quality products and many greenhouses are launching control units to monitor the quality of agricultural products, Boromandi noted.
Iran annually produces 400,000 tons of kiwis from gardens in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces, he pointed out.
The official indicated that India has evaluated Iran's kiwi gardens and the ban on kiwi import from Iran has been resolved.
Iran Ministry of Agriculture is to provide QR codes on kiwis and kiwi gardens will have identification certificates for monitoring the quality of products.
